i managed to fix my issues with avast. if anyone has issues with avast always starting process monitor in deepscreen mode you need to reinstall avast, because for some reason upgrading the program from one version to another has a chance to break certain options in the settings menu. after reinstalling i was able to disable deepscreen and get the program running
