I’m not exactly a fan of AHK either, but given my lack of experience, it seemed like the path of least resistance at the time. I was probably wrong 😉
I’ll give Clippy a try. Who knows, maybe I’ll prefer it over my current clipboard manager, Clipjump. (Which happens to have been written in AHK, but don’t hold that against it.) Clipjump came closest to what I was looking for in a clipboard manager — let’s see if Clippy can best it 😉
