I have been doing my research project with some EyeX Controller in recent years. I know that EyeX is developed for entertainment use, not for academic research, and I, of course, know that the gaze positions obtained from EyeX are not guaranteed.

I happened to know that it is FORBID to use EyeX for academic research. Is that true ?

I solved my question myself. The answer is specified at the license agreement

    Tobii Software Development License Agreement

Hi Ktakahas, yes you are quite right that the licence agreement is strict about this..

However, depending on your circumstances and what you intend to do, the licencing team may be flexible
or can offer a workable solution for your needs.

In any event, I would recommend you get in touch with the licencing team [email protected]
just in case we can accommodate you!

We re-read the license agreement based on above, and can see that we have a project that probably also falls outside the license term but our intention is to commercialize it down the road.

We have send an email to above and hope to hear back soon.
