    Yes of course:

It seems to be a firmware upgrade failure.

    Hi!
Could you please also check what driver version your USB 3.0 controller has currently installer?
You can check that in the device manager, then Universal Serial Bus controller, double click on you USB 3.0 controller (USB Silverstone SSt-EC04-P USB 3.0) and then “driver”.
Please post date, provider and version.

    Thanks!

    Cheers,
    Konstantin

I tried to use the old EyeX (Tobii.Eye.Experience_0.8.17.1196-alpha) and it is working. Using the old drivers I cannot use the C++ API (because it always says: TRYING TO CONNECT..).

If I use the Tobii.EyeX_0.10.0.1889-alpha nothing works.

    Hope this helps.

    @Damian: I have happy news: http://developer.tobii.com/using-eyex-controller-with-asmedia-xhci-controller/

Please, try it out, and let us know if it is working!

@Max: We have streamlined and renamed a couple of services and folders in the EyeX Engine 0.10.0 installation as compared to the EyeX Engine 0.8.17 installation. Becuase of this, problems can arise if you installed 0.10.0 without first uninstalling 0.8.17.

My suggestion is that you do a clean 0.10.0 installation by:
    1. First removing all things Tobii using the Control Panel “Uninstall a program” utility. Make sure that the Tobii installation folder is removed or empty after uninstalling (typically found here: C:\Program files (x86)\Tobii).
    2. Run the EyeX Engine 0.10.0 installation exe

Then, check that the EyeX Engine and EyeX Controller works and you got the correct versions:
    3. Open the EyeX Settings panel
    4. Does the EyeX Controller light up? Check the screen setup and click check calibration to see if the device is functioning properly.
    5. Click ‘About’ and check the version numbers:
    Firmware version: 1.0.3-30188
Tobii EyeX Controller Driver version: 1.0.0
    Tobii Service/EyeX version: 0.10.0.1889

To be able to develop against the EyeX Engine 0.10.0 API you need the EyeX SDK version 0.31. There were breaking API changes between EyeX Engine 0.8.17 and 0.10.0, so that will explain that the wrong combination of engine and SDK will result in “Trying to connect…”

I hope this will resolve the problems you’ve had.

    Hi,

I had the same doubt but I got the very same problem after installing EyeX Engine 0.10.0 on another PC where EyeX 0.8.17 has not been installed.

    What can I do now?

Holy f#*$ing Shit! It works! It works! It works!

I deinstalled all old Tobii software, restarted the system, installed the tobii software again, restarted the system, replaced the “libusb”, restarted again – nothing works… pluged out the usb-cable , reconnected the usb-cable and the calibration starts.

    WOW WOW WOW!

Thanks to the whole supporting team! Really great to see, how fast you answer an how long you keep the contact! Thanks a lot!

Kind regards to the whole team!

@Damian: Yay! I’m so happy that it is all working now. Looking forward to seeing what cool EyeX app/game you will create!

@Max: Ok, I’m sorry to hear that didn’t fix the problems. At least we have excluded some possible error sources now. We’ll get back to you when we have some new ideas of what to try.
