Hello tobii community. I am new here and i hope you can help me.
I use my tobii eye tracker 4C especially because I have a physical disability. Especially important for me are keyboard interactors. For this I am currently using the trial version of “Project Iris.” With this software I can see on a monitor area and press various buttons. Also hold or switch is possible.
Unfortunately, “Project Iris” is no longer officially supported. So my question is: are there any official or unofficial alternatives to “Project Iris?” I would especially need the Interactors feature for keyboard-key-areas and possibly the “Eye Blink” feature. Are there any alternatives for that? Maybe over Github or somewhere else.22/07/2019 at 12:53 #11802
Hi @onsche, thanks for your query. Although not an exhaustive list, here are a few of the alternative projects that might be of used to use although I am ensure exactly how closely they align with your need for key interactors. Please give me a try and let me know how you get on.
Also, I assume you have already tried the integrated eye tracking in Windows 10?

Thank you for the fast answer. At first, yes I know the eye tracking of Windows 10. Unfortunately for me it is more or less useless, because I need eye tracking mainly for gaming. It supports me with my handicap.
The mouse control would be no problem, there are enough tools for this. But I would need a software with hotkey interactors. Like Project Iris, look: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0emlROwU28s&t
It’s really harder than imagining finding a second software that can do it, hm!24/07/2019 at 13:04 #11816
Hi @onsche, yes, I see the feature you are looking for..I’m afraid I don’t know of any other sofware with this feature… may you could investigate some software that has a generalised floating toolbar (or even docker software) that would launch a custom command upon click (and hence gaze)
Certainly, if you find something please do let us know!14/07/2020 at 10:44 #18408

What do you mean by: “Project Iris” is no longer officially supported? Has it stopped working?30/11/2020 at 13:01 #19405
Hi Mauro, probably best that you try and make direct contact with Project IRIS developers directly on this particular issue as Tobii does not own this software, thanks for your understanding. Best Wishes.
