Hi, Tobii team,
I have a research project. I want to collect a data related to eye tracking (gaze direction, pupil diameter and so on), feed it to neural network and try to get out something like mood, concentration, etc.
I’ve found Tobii Eye Tracker 4C available at a local store.Could you tell me if I can get the mentioned data from Tobii Eye Tracker 4C in a Linux (Ubuntu) environmet?
I am not building production app. Do I need a special license in a case of research?
What’s the license price?
Is SDK free?P.S.
Tried to reach you by [email protected] (broken) and https://analyticaluse.tobii.com/license-application-form without success.28/03/2019 at 12:37 #10752Grant [Tobii]KeymasterHi @mikhails and thanks for your query. Your project sounds really interesting!
Certainly, if you are collecting data for analysis (regardless if for production or academic use) then you will need to purchase the analytical use licence for which further details can be found @ https://analyticaluse.tobii.com/
For the creation of applications under Linux using Python in conjunction with the 4C, you will need to use the Tobii Pro SDK (https://www.tobiipro.com/product-listing/tobii-pro-sdk/) which support ubuntu and requires a special unlock file to use.
Regarding pricing, if you could kindly PM you private email address I will get one of the Tobii Pro Sales team to contact you promptly.
Thanks for your patience and please let us know if we can provide any further information for your project goals.

We have created a full walkthrough tutorial and sample code you can use @ https://developer.tobii.com/product-integration/interaction-library/getting-started/
This software does not require the purchase of any special licence, so should be ready for you to get up and running directly!
Please try it out and let us know how you get on. Best Wishes.

Thanks greatly. Can you confirm if this API gives access to the left and right pupil size/diameter information in real time? If so, do you have sample code for this? Does this require any specific SDK or licence? This is what I need. I tried downloading the research dll but cannot find any working examples.

In order to use the Tobii Pro SDK with the 4C Tracker you must purchase a Research development license.
To obtain a quote, please get in touch with the licencing team @ https://developer.tobii.com/license-agreement/contact/
Best Wishes.
