We recently bought a Tobii Pro Spectrum, thus we switched from Tobii SDK 3.0 to Tobii PRO SDK for the development of our research paradigms. In Matlab (2017b 64bit and 2015b 32bit), we try to call the Eye-Tracker Manager’s (ETM) feature ‘usercalibration’ (build-in calibration routine, cmd function).

Although the ETM features ‘displayarea’ and ‘trackstatus’ work just fine with the code sample provided here (http://developer.tobiipro.com/eyetrackermanager/etm-sdk-integration.html), this is not the case for the highly anticipated ‘usercalibration’ feature. On executing the script, the ETM window shows up with a button ‘usercalibration’ and upon clicking that button, the screen just turns grey (seems to be the calibration routine background) with an X to exit the calibration, but nothing else happens. No calibration dots will appear.

If you call that feature directly within the ETM application, the calibration runs just fine.

As the documentation of the Tobii PRO SDK seems rather inferior to the Tobii SDK 3.0, we are a bit clueless how troubleshoot this issue. Could somebody provide advice/solution? What can we try to get ETM’s ‘usercalibration’ feature working from within Matlab?

    Thanks and Best,
