I have tried everything i found on internet, no matter what i try, there is no way to install V-Joy, always the same error “V-joy failed to install”. I bought Tobii Eyetracker 4C just for Euro Truck Simulator 2, American Truck Simulator and Microsoft Flight Simulator X. Now i have a useless 159 euros piece of plastic. Why do you rely on an unsupported external application? Is it so hard to create your own software? If this cannot be solved, then stop announcing compatibility with the above mentioned games. I really feel ripped off.
24/05/2018 at 13:22 #8369Grant [Tobii]KeymasterHi @manuelr, sorry to hear about your issues when trying to install vJoy. We depend on this third party software but we cannot fix (by altering the source code) these vJoy-problems ourselves. We have also not been able to reproduce this problem ourselves unfortunately.
I assume you have already went through the official installer guide @ https://help.tobii.com/hc/en-us/articles/209525589-Getting-started-with-Tobii-Game-Hub
The best advice we can give you as of now is to try the following:
– Make sure that you do not have a previous installation of vJoy (check under Program and Features). Uninstall and reboot if you do.
– Unplug any game controllers currently connected (joysticks, steering wheels, gamepads, etc) before installation.
– During the vJoy-installation. Uncheck all of the the “Companion Applications” (Demo vJoy Feeder application, vJoy Configuration application, vJoy Monitoring application) before continuing the installation.
If all else fails, have a look at the vJoy forum. The vJoy author is very helpful and usually very active on these forum. http://vjoystick.sourceforge.net/site/index.php/forum/4-Help
(Note: Please do not take this as us trying to shift the responsibility of these problems onto vJoy. This is purely a matter of us trying to point you in the best possible direction that will hopefully help you resolve this issue promptly)
Should the steps fail, please reply with a full system specification as this will help us diagnose better the possible cause of the problem.

26/05/2018 at 20:35 #838627/05/2018 at 02:04 #8387ManuelParticipantThanks for replying and trying to help, i´ve done everything you say and the recomendations at GitHub.com but to no avail. I rolled back to Windows v.1709. Now the eye tracker won´t even lit up. Back to Windows v.1803, did a system repair, same thing : Tobii device seems dead. Installation of the core program stops at 50% and stays there for hours with the message “Updating… 50% completed. Half way there!”
Two full days spend trying to make it work again and 159 euros wasted, that´s too much for me. Only thing left to do is a clean Windows installation, i´m sure it will work again but i won´t go through that.
I´ll put it on sale at e-bay and buy DelanClip, from what i´ve seen it doesn´t require much and it has a very affordable price.
Again, thanks for taking the time to help.27/05/2018 at 23:51 #8390Grant [Tobii]KeymasterWe are very sorry to hear about your experience and understand your frustration with this issue. We are indeed working actively on resolving the vJoy issues as soon as possible in conjunction with the developers. Hopefully the fix will be very soon, again our apologies for the problems you have faced.
28/05/2018 at 11:33 #8395Alex [Tobii]ParticipantSorry to hear that. I believe Tobii support would be able to help you to resolve Tobii Core Software problems.
vJoy problem with Windows 1803 was resolved yesterday. The fix is released here –
https://github.com/shauleiz/vJoy/releases/tag/v2.1.8.3902/06/2018 at 22:52 #8413ManuelParticipantSorry but it is not solved, at least not for me. Unable to install the Tobii core program, i cannot test the fix for vJoy. Maybe some advice on how to remove ALL entries from Windows 10 v1.803 registry? The advice on this page:
https://help.tobii.com/hc/en-us/articles/115004526774-Installation-or-setup-issues does not help. Cannot install because at first it stays at 50% for a long time, next time i try it says it is already installed, but nothing has been written to harddrives.04/06/2018 at 10:32 #8416Grant [Tobii]KeymasterHi @manuelr, sorry to hear the issue is persisting for you.
Please kindly get in touch directly with Tobii Tech Support Team who should be able to direct you either by mail or remote session the appropriate steps to remedy the installation problems.
You can raise a ticket here @ https://help.tobii.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
In the meantime, you might try an uninstaller program (such as IObit Uninstaller) that may be able to completely remove all traces of the Tobii Core files.
