We are setting up a flight simulator club for flight enthousiasts, the latest Tobii eyetracker is set up only for head tracking. The respons is good but when moving the head to a target en keep the head still, the image keeps on moving (small movements), keeping the head very still is no solution, the image keeps on moving.. how to deal with this issue ?30/08/2021 at 13:45 #21007Grant [Tobii]Keymaster
Hi @pluto777, thanks for getting in touch. Could you kindly elaborate on your setup please? ie software, game titles, any SDK’s being ran? etc
Does this image movement occur with all participants?31/08/2021 at 07:59 #21010devolderParticipant
We use Prepar 3d V5 /2 – its occurs with all tested persons. It behaves as the Tobii is amplifying the very small head movements, small 1 cm head moventents are translated in big movements of the scene on the screen. You cannot hold someones head in to a bench-clamp 😉 😉01/09/2021 at 12:17 #21011Grant [Tobii]Keymaster
Hi @pluto777, for rotation, try to turn down sensitivity in Tobii gamehub, or adjust with the start value of the gradient to create a small dead zone around center.
For position you only have sensitivity to adjust around with. Higher sensitivity will increase the noise.
There might also be in-game settings as well to adjust sensitivity so it’s worth taking a look at those.
Check it out and let us know how you get on. Best Wishes.
