Hello everyone,
I’m currently working on a project where I’m integrating Tobii’s eye tracking technology into a remote user analytics platform, and I’ve run into some challenges with scaling data storage and analysis through cloud services. I wanted to reach out here to see if anyone has experience using Tobii’s SDKs alongside cloud platforms, and if so, any best practices or considerations to keep in mind.
Here’s a brief overview of my current setup:
• Hardware: Tobii Pro Fusion eye tracker
• Software: Custom application built in Unity (using Tobii SDK for Unity)
• Cloud Services: AWS (for data storage and processing)The core idea of the project is to collect real-time eye tracking data from users across various locations, send that data to a cloud service for processing and storage, and then analyze it to generate behavioral insights. The challenge I’m facing is how to efficiently transmit continuous streams of eye-tracking data to the cloud without causing latency issues or overwhelming network bandwidth.
Some specific questions I have:
1. Data Compression: Has anyone worked with compressing real-time eye tracking data before sending it to a cloud platform? I’m currently exploring methods to reduce payload size without losing critical accuracy.
2. Real-Time Processing: For those working with cloud services like AWS or Azure, how do you handle real-time processing of large amounts of sensor data? I’m considering using AWS Lambda for serverless processing but am unsure if that’s the best approach for data that needs to be analyzed in real-time.
3. Security and Privacy: Given that eye tracking data can be highly sensitive, what security measures should I consider when transmitting this data to the cloud? Are there any recommendations for encrypting data both in transit and at rest?
I’d love to hear from anyone who’s tackled similar challenges or has experience integrating Tobii hardware with cloud services for real-time analytics. Any advice, tips, or resources would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
