    Hello!

I would like to ask if Tobii 4C eye trackers may be used in rehab situations, for example with ALS patient whose only way of communicating is by eyes.

Or if a special license is needed for that.

The license agreement of the 4C software says that “medical usage” is prohibited, but I wonder if usage by handicapped people with use of just streaming and thereby moving the mouse pointer on the screen is allowed.

    Thank you for a clarification.

Hi @ac2020 and thanks for your query. As the eye tracker would in this case be used within the context of overcoming a disability rather than simply extending interaction, this may well fall within the category of a medical device.

To be absolutely certain, please contact our specialist licencing team @ https://www.tobii.com/tech/contact/analyticaluse_contact/ and a member should be able to confirm the best course of action. Best Wishes.
