Niels Laute
ParticipantHi,
I was wondering if the current SDK is also compatible with UWP apps. Since Microsoft is moving on from WPF to UWP, it would make sense to also support this platform, especially since there’s ‘native’ support for Tobii trackers with the Fall Creators Update.
Is it supported, and if not, is it in the works/roadmap? Are you guys working with Microsoft to bring the SDKs to the platform?
Kind regards,
Niels01/03/2018 at 19:01 #7959Grant [Tobii]
KeymasterHi @niels9001, as you may be aware, UWP apps are sandboxed and cannot access the Tobii Interaction Engine or indeed the tracker itself, and so accordingly UWP is not currently supported with the Tobii Core SDK for the time being.
However, we are working on supporting this platform in the future, so please stay tuned for future announcements. Many thanks.17/05/2018 at 10:48 #8350Denny [Tobii]
MemberHi Niels,
Good news! We have collaborated with Microsoft to enable eye tracking development in UWP, and we can now share that these APIs are available in Windows 10 April Update. Click the link to see the official announcement from Microsoft.
How to create accessible apps and immersive game experiences with new eye tracking APIs
Please make sure that you are using 2.13.3 bundle or above, since that bundle includes a last minute change that’s needed for starting calibration through the APIs.
Thanks,
Denny
