Is there anyway to launch the calibration app in a language that is not set by the system?

Hi @fern and thanks for your query. Could you kindly clarify which protocol and SDK you are using to launch calibration or if indeed you are simply launching from the Tobii Core SW system tray icon?

Thereafter, we will be better placed to deal with your question. Many thanks.

I’m calling LaunchGuestCalibration with EyeXHost object from EyeXFramework.

After playing around with this a great deal, I was able to get the calibration app to launch in a different language without logging off when I changed the Tobii service Logon Property to a user with a different default language and launched the app as that user. However, I’m not sure how to do that with in a WPF application as of yet. I would very much like to just be able to set the Language on my EyeXHost object.

Hi @fern thanks for the update. I am afraid that the EyeX SDK has been deprecated since almost 2 years and unfortunately we no longer actively maintain or indeed support this API, recommending customers to use the latest Tobii Core SDK. In this case however, the various calibration functions you are using are not necessarily exposed within the Core SDK. So for the time being, the workaround you found with login property is likely to be the best approach but I will enquire if any of the developers may know of a more elegant solution.

Hi @Grant, thanks for helping me out with this.

Tobii.Interaction.Host works for me as well, however I’m noting that it was last updated almost exactly 2 years ago only a few months after the latest eyexhost was published according to nuget. I followed the instructions on this page https://developer.tobii.com/consumer-eye-trackers/core-sdk/getting-started/ to get my project setup. Currently I’m using version 0.7.3. Any chance it’s possible to change the language on a Tobii.Interaction.Host object?

Is there a newer version that I should be using instead?

Thanks for your patience @fern. Unfortunately, we can confirm there is no direct way to change the Host object language other than using the workaround you previously mentioned via Windows Logon language. Apologies for this inconvenience and thanks for your understanding.
