    I have problem with EyeX calibration. Everything is properly mounted and calibrated but I cant reach top left and right corner of my screen. It looks like device track only trapeze space on my screen, when I move my eyes toward right and left top corners, EyeX lose tracking.

    My screen is Dell 2312hm 23″ and I have also connected Samsung 48″ TV. Both devices are full HD and 16:9, I config them to be clones. Everytime I run Tobii app, pop up shows and inform me that screen proportion has changed, and ask about me screen. I can select black strips on side of monitor or full screen.

    How to solve that problem?

    UPDATE:
    Well sometimes I am able to reach corners but in matter mili seconds gaze teleport right or left and shake, it looks like tracker loose precision on left and right edge and extremely loose precision in top corners.

    Hi @xender, If you disable to monitor cloning and repeat the Tobii setup configuration , is the problem still persistent?

    Well it happen no matter I have cloned screen or not. Currently I calibrate EyeX again and it is slightly better but not perfect.
    It clearly visible, you I look close to corners, tracking loose precision.

    As you can see I have problems with reaching top regions of screen especially top right corner.

    Okay, thanks for that Kacper.

    I would investigate a couple of things in your environmental setup such as the presence of sunlight coming from one direction or any spotlights behind you.

    Also, can you run the calibration with someone else to see if the issue is reproduced?

    Some photos of your environment would also be handy.

    I have window behind monitor but I tested eye tracking after sun goes down.
    Also I have big mirror behind my back, it is 3-4 behind me, could it be cause by this mirror?

    I will add pictures later.

    Also I have one more question: why Tobii app ask about screen proportion every time I run it? Nothing has changed but it ask if I have black borders on edges of screen, it is strange.

    Hi @xender,

    Thanks for the photos… yes, that mirror might be problematic as it could be reflecting IR light. Certainly try somewhere else (or remove the mirror) and see how it goes.

    How about with other users?

    Ok I will try to cover mirror with some material. I thought it wont interact with tracker from 5 meters distance.

    What about screen proportions pop up showing each time I run Tobii, can I somehow save this setting?

    Hi @xender, did you manage to get any different results? how about with other users?

    Regarding the screeen proportions popup, that is a bit strange.

    I would recommend a fresh install of The Tobii EyeX Software after removing the following registry entries:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER – SOFTWARE – Tobii
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE – SOFTWARE – WOW6432Node – Tobii

    Hi @xender,

    All right, sounds like you tried most what you can.

    I know this is a pain, but might be worth trying a different room just to see how the results vary.

    Unfortunately with eye trackers there are users that may have persistent issue in some areas of the screen whilst another user
    may obtain perfect results in an identical environment.

    Some degree of patience and experimentation is require in such cases so obtain optimal results.

    Thank for your help. I have very small astigmatism so maybe it is related to that.

    I have one last question: When calibration is fine? This is sufficient if I can focus on the circle or I should be able to perfectly focus on dot inside?

    Okay, sorry to hear about the issue you have been having, hopefully some experimentation with the environment will yield positive results.

    One should expect accuracy to me at least to focus on the circle. the angle of accuracy is approximate to the nail of your small finger from a distance of 30cm or so from the eye tracker (which is a biological not technological limitation of eye tracking) so it is unrealistic to expect a perfect focus on the circle’s dot.
