I want to be able to show different elements for different users. so that if a pre-registered face comes in presence, some elements are shown, otherwise not.
So basically, I would like to utilize something like windows hello, but inside my own application (and maybe not through the windows OS).Knowledge of different users could perhaps also help in eye calibration.
Is this something that is able to be done with the consumer eye tracker?
Would like to buy and use Tobii on a personal project but I would like to not have to include a webcam just for figuring out which user is in front.
Hi @thizizmyname, thanks for your query.. yes, that’s a very cool idea indeed that the eye tracker will auto recognise the user based on retinal image for example unfortunately it’s not a feature that’s available yet in our consumer eye trackers. As you say, for the time being, a 3rd party tool based on a webcam would be your best bet.
That being said, I will pass along your suggestions to the developers and perhaps there is some solution available that utitlises the eye trackers own camera images in this fashion. will keep you posted.
