When I log into my desktop, it brings up a Tobii dialog that says “updating firmware” that never goes away. The Tobii software applications and demos cannot find the device (I haven’t tried the SDK yet, since the setup program can’t find it).
I have a Tobii EyeX connected to a USB 3.0 port on Windows 7 64-bit. I installed the latest manufacturer USB drivers for my motherboard:
Asmedia USB3.0 Controller Driver V1.16.12.0 for Windows XP/Vista/7/8/8.1 32bit & 64bit.(WHQL 2013-12-17)
and under Device Manager see libusb (WinUSB) devices/ Tobii EyeX Controller, with driver date 8/11/2013.
Hi Morgan,
There is a known connection issue with ASMedia USB 3.0 Controller Driver on Windows 7 that might be the underlying cause of the problem: http://developer.tobii.com/community/forums/topic/cannot-connect-to-eyetracker/#post-1438
We will have to investigate whether a firmware update dialog could appear in this kind of situation, though.
