Leaving the Tobii eye tracker on 24/7

I had noticed that as long as the 5L Windows service (IS5LEYETRACKER5L) is running, the IRs are turned on. In other words, even if my own software, that uses the SDK, isn’t running, the eye tracker stays on.

1. Is that normal? The expected behavior?
2. If so – is it safe, in terms of hardware longevity, to keep it on 24/7? Should I take care of shutting down the Windows service whenever my app isn’t running?
